Stay Connected - Sim Card

No doubt popular operators in Nepal are Ncell and Nepal Telecom. However it doesn’t work properly so if you have enough time we recommend you on getting CDMA Network Cell from Nepal Telecom. In average it cost you around USD 15 for handset and sim card. Don’t forget to take copy of passport and passport size picture while issuing SIM Card.

WiFi and Internet Access

On leadership of Mahabir Pun, broadband wireless internet is on action on most part of Manaslu. There is no WiFi access on Tsum, a good cyber is running on Samdo. You can contribute small amount even on USD 1 for WiFi in Manaslu. Click here to know more about Mahabir Pun.

Accommodation and Hot Shower

Don’t expect luxury deluxe room. In most of the place neat and clean basic room are available. Everyone will be sharing common toilet and bathroom. When teahouse and lodges are overcrowded you might need to use traditional squat toilet. Click here to see how to use asian squat toilet.

Toiletries and personal hygiene

While using traditional squat toilet chances of contamination is high. Keep your hand clean all the time. Hand sanitizer, washing soap, tooth paste & brush and toilet paper are the most. Water might be frozen early morning.

Energy bars and snickers

Carry few energy bars and snickers, as during long walk day it will help you a lot. Don’t carry too much as just incase if you ran out of snicker and bars you can buy along the way though expensive. Allocate 2 per day and it should be good enough for your trip.

Buying or renting necessary gears

If you are not regular hiker then renting gears is the best way to control your budget. We provide you sleeping bags however if you don’t have down jacket you can either buy or rent a one in Kathmandu. Medium quality stuffs from Kathmandu are food for temporary uses.
